Drilling services firm Ausdrill Ltd has won a $70 million contract at the Bronzewing gold mine in Western Australia that is being brought out of mothballs by Navigator Resources Ltd.

Ausdrill said in a statement on Friday that the five-year contract was for the provision of grade control, drilling and blasting services at the mine.

It is the first contract Africa-focused Ausdrill has won since its merger with Brandrill Ltd.

Navigator said this week it expected to pour its first gold bars from Bronzewing next month and ramp up to a full production rate of 100,000 ounces a year in the June quarter.

The mine's former owner, View Resources Ltd, went into administration in February 2008 after disappointing gold production at Bronzewing and a blowout in costs.
