Macarthur Coal Ltd says it is uncertain whether its full year sales forecast will be affected by the suspension of services at the Dalrymple Bay coal export terminal in Queensland due to Cyclone Ului.
The miner also said in a statement on Friday that it had declared force majeure in relation to all accepted vessels.
"Preparations are in place at the company's mine sites to minimise any impact and to ensure the safety of employees and mining operations if predicted severe weather conditions materialise," Macarthur said.
Macarthur has forecast sales of between 4.8 million tonnes (Mt) and 5Mt for the current financial year.
Shares in Macarthur were down five cents at $12.25 at 1415 AEDT.
