Rural services provider Elders Ltd says it doesn't know why its shares jumped nine per cent on Thursday and doesn't have any information not yet released that would explain the price change.
Elders responded to a query by the Australian Securities Exchange on Friday, saying it was neither aware of information yet to be released to the market that would explain the shares surge, nor knew of any other explanations.
Shares in Elders jumped 11.5 cents to $1.38 on Thursday, their highest level in three weeks. That level is still less than half the $3.70 of 12 months earlier.
