ETrade Australia has launched a pilot program offering clients Australia's first online trading access to global equity markets.
ETrade said the service offers customers access to the New York Stock Exchange, London Stock Exchange, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and eight more bourses across Europe, Canada and Singapore.
Customers can access these markets using their current share trading account, ETrade said in a statement on Thursday.

Spokeswoman Louise Nealon said the new service was over 12 months in the making and will be completed by August 2010 after new features are added.
ETrade is a wholly-owned unit of ANZ Banking Group Ltd.
