Seven in trading halt until announcement

Shares in Kerry Stokes' Seven Network Ltd have gone into a trading halt pending the release of an announcement by the broadcaster.

The shares will remain in a trading halt until the announcement is made, or until normal trading commences on Thursday, the Australian Securities Exchange said in a statement on Tuesday.

Seven said in a separate statement that it had requested the trading halt after Justice Peter Jacobson of the Federal Court read out parts of a scheme booklet on the broadcaster's proposed merger with Kerry Stokes's industrial equipment business.

The parts of the scheme booklet included valuation ranges determined by the independent expert appointed by Seven, which the company considered price sensitive in relation to Seven shares.

Seven said it expected to release the scheme booklet by 1400 AEDT, at which point the trading halt would be lifted.
