Virgin Blue Holdings Ltd (VBA) has announced the appointment of former Qantas executive John Borghetti as its new chief executive.
The appointment will be effective on May 8, the carrier said in a statement to the stock exchange on Tuesday.
Current chief executive and co-founder of the company Brett Godfrey had announced in July 2009 his intention to step down from the leadership role this year.
