CBRE recruits specialists
CBRE has recruited an expert in the industrial sector. Michael Hayden, most recently general manager industrial new business at Australand, will join CBRE in August in the newly created role of director, development services, industrial and logistics. CBRE Victoria senior managing director Matt Haddon said Mr Hayden would be a dedicated development specialist for industrial property, identifying and extracting value from clients' industrial investment portfolios and their development projects. ''Michael's track record with Australand includes involvement in almost $2 billion of development related transactions,'' he said. Mr Hayden previously worked at CBRE in the mid-1990s with Mr Haddon as the industrial landscape changed shape with the development of the Western Ring Road.
In another move, CBRE has recruited property analyst and economist Stephen McNabb to lead its Australian research team. Mr McNabb has had 18 years of industry experience, most recently at Westpac. He began his career at Westpac before moving to UBS in the late 1990s. He later led the financial services industry analysis within PwC before returning to Westpac in 2003 to lead the bank's market analysis, a role in which he implemented Westpac's research framework, established quality control measures and increased the output and focus research. He will start in his new role as CBRE's Australian director, global research and consulting, on July 2. His appointment follows Kevin Stanley's decision to leave CBRE to pursue other opportunities.
