Australian housing finance commitments for owner-occupied housing rose 3.5% in January, seasonally adjusted, to 55,628, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said today.
Total housing finance by value rose by 0.7% in January, seasonally adjusted, to $18.880 billion.
Economists had expected the number of owner-occupier housing finance commitments to rise by 4% in January.
