Retail management committee for Wesfarmers

WESFARMERS has set up a committee to co-ordinate the running of its leading retail chains Kmart and Target. Responsibilities include strategic issues, property matters and human resources.

The committee will be chaired by Target managing director Launa Inman.

Wesfarmers has also announced that commercial lawyer Paul Meadows has been appointed group general counsel.

Finance director Terry Bowen will take responsibility for Wesfarmers' three industrial divisions, CSBP, Wesfarmers Energy and Wesfarmers Industrial and Safety.

Patricia Cross resigned from the board following the appointment of her husband, Mr Meadows.
