Cheese and wine the perfect marriage - but what goes with what?

Winestein| Uncorked

Love a bit of cheese with your wine? Who doesn't. Ever thought much about what cheese to match with your wine? Me neither.

Well the time has come to do just that at this year's Good Food & Wine Show.

Tantatalise your tastebuds with a selection of Australia's finest cheeses, matched splendidly with a range of wines.

The Cheesematters Masterclass is a 45-minute cheese tutorial where you will be taken into the wonderful world of cheese and taste your way through a variety of cheese styles – from fresh, soft white and washed rind styles to cheddar, parmesan and blue.

Experienced cheese educator Naomi Crisante will talk everything cheese, matching each selection with wines and range of accompaniments.

Try cheeses from King Island Dairy, Tasmanian Heritage, South Cape and Mil Lel during a 45-minute tutored tasting featuring cheese samples, tasting glasses of three wines, accompaniments and course materials.

Cost is $30 and participants will receive a 112-page Cheesematters recipe book valued at $19.95.

Tickets to the Good Food & Wine Show are available through Ticketek for $30. Entry must be purchased on top of the price of the Cheesematters Masterclass sessions.

If it all sounds a bit cheesy, then check out signature dishes from top TV chefs Tobie Puttock, Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris and Manu Feildel at the new Fifth Leg Restaurant at the show.

The winery's new Whippersnapper range will complement the chefs' creations. They will also perform live cooking demonstrations where you can sample an array of produce.

Book your tickets for the Good Food & Wine Show, in Perth from July 2-4, and don't miss this year's Fifth Leg Restaurant.

To win a double pass to the Food & Wine Show in Perth on July 2-4, email wine@watoday.com.au by Monday June 28 and tell us why you would love to attend. Terms and Conditions available from WAtoday on request.
