ABC Learning Centres throughout Australia will re-open tomorrow and open again on Monday, receiver Chris Honey told a media conference in Brisbane, this afternoon.
"Parents and staff can be reassured that following our appointment , the group's child care centres will continue to operate, certainly while we conduct a review of the group," Mr Honey said.
"The ABC Child Care centres will remain open and continue to provide the high quality care and stimulating learning environment that parents expect," he said.
He said the receivers were working "closely and positively" with the government" but declined to provide any more specific answers about the government assistance package.
He would not elaborate on questions, saying simply that it was "business as usual" in the short-term.
He refused to outline if ABC Learning had already received offers to buy part, of all of the business caring for120,000 children.
Mr Honey's corporate recovery firm McGrathNicol was called in as ABC Learning Centres receivers this morning after it was revealed the company has debts of around $850 million.
Mr Honey also declined to answer if there was any truth in claims by the Creche and Kindergarten Association of Queensland that 70 to 80 centres faced closure in the longer-term.
'We are meeting positively and constructively with the government, the group's financiers and other stakeholders to ensure that there is no disruption to child care centres to any parent."
Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard has announced a financial rescue package, but Mr Honey said it would take "a day or two" before details of the package became clear.
